Christmas is approaching and the upper town of Grottammare is preparing for the festivities. In December, the fourth edition of 'Borgo in festa'a week full of events organised by the Paese Alto Association of Grottammare.
This year, more than forty exhibitors will take part in the event, which is now becoming a real landmark for the entire surrounding area, presenting their creative tables in a truly unique competition. In fact, they will start Saturday 2 December, at 5 p.m., with the Exhibition of Christmas tables. The aim of the event, as the organisers remind us, is to stimulate creativity and give everyone the opportunity to show it off and make their style known.
The exhibition will extend throughout the village: from Via Palmaroli to Piazza di Porta Maggiore and Piazza Peretti, with the extraordinary opening of the Orange Theatre, the Tarpato Museum and the Battle Museum. The panels will be exhibited and visible during the first 2 weekends of December, including Friday 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On the evening of 2 December at 6 p.m. there will be the lighting of the illuminations in Piazza Peretti while the Sixtus V Choir will entertain those present with traditional Christmas carols, while the large fir tree in the centre of the square will provide the setting.
New this year will be the 'Gara de lu ciammellotte' (match race)a culinary competition that will award the best Piceno doughnut.
The events will then continue on 9 December, at the Orange Theatre, where the comedy 'Natale in casa Cupiello' will be screened.
Finally, on Sunday 10 December, at 8 p.m., the event will end with the display of Christmas tables.
