GROTTAMMARE - The Councillor for Active Labor Policies and Productive Activities. Lorenzo Rossi introduces the summer calendar of markets, dedicated to handicrafts, gifts and clothing.
The councilor highlights two of the main markets organized directly by the administration.
The first is entitled. Cactus by the Sea, organized by the department itself and consists of an exhibition of all varieties of succulent plants. This market is in its fifth edition, strongly desired by the Municipality of Grottammare after suffering a one-year stop, also presents this year the "Water Hyacinth," an exhibition of rare aquatic plants.
The second marketplace highlighted by Rossi is the usual Cave Market, which takes place for 10 Tuesdays over the course of the summer. Now in its third year, completely under the administration's management, it sees arranged for Grottammare's North Promenade, 30 hobbyists, 33 specializing in works of ingenuity, 16 experts in handicrafts (wood, leather goods and gifts).
"We have reduced the number of days of the Cave Market from 20 to 10," states Lorenzo Rossi - but we have increased quality through careful selection, based on the kind of products sold. Direct management by the municipality guarantees a revenue of around 17 thousand euros. Our choice involves the dense location throughout the North Waterfront, so as to avoid squatting. The choice was directed to items that do not require trucks or vans to occupy parking spaces, so as not to hinder or slow down circulation. The products then, especially leather goods and footwear, were selected so that there would be no competition with stable businesses in the municipality of Grottammare. The calendar of markets includes:
Cactus by the Sea: exhibition - market of succulent plants by the City of Grottammare June 24-25 in Kursaal Square, from 10 a.m. to midnight.
The Cave Market: a market reserved for artisans, hobbyists and opi (works of one's own ingenuity), will be held every Tuesday, July 4 to Sept. 5, from 5:30 p.m. to midnight, in the pedestrian walkway of the Republic Promenade and Corso Mazzini.
Oleander Market : every Thursday from June 29 to August 31 from 5 p.m. to midnight along the pedestrian zone on De Gasperi Avenue
Footwear Market: July 22 and 23 from 8 a.m. to midnight at the pedestrian walkway of the Republic Promenade
Patron's Day Market: July 7, 8 and 9 from 8 a.m. to midnight pr at the pedestrian walkway of the Republic Promenade.
The service will also be available Tourist Train June 17 through September 17 from 4 p.m. to midnight. This year there will be 3 extra rides along the south side of Grottammare.
