After the blue and yellow flags, comes another recognition for Grottammare: the "Green Ears" award.
With the collaboration of Confagricoltura, the Foundation for Environmental Education Italy (Fee) has awarded 59 Italian localities, including nine in the Marche region. Grottammare is the only municipality in the southern Marche region to fall within the parameters. The title "Spighe Verdi" means in short that behind the clean sea and a welcoming town, there is also a rural and village reality that over the years has implemented enhancement strategies capable of benefiting the environment and quality of life. In the "Green Ears" program, the role of agriculture in defending the natural landscape is crucial.
